Levi State | Executive Director
Levi, originally from southeast Iowa, grew up in the small town of Oskaloosa. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Human Services from William Penn University, complemented by a practical pastoral ministry degree from Victory College. Since completing his education, Levi has dedicated his professional life to serving vulnerable and underserved populations. He served as a pastor for a local Iowa church for five years before relocating to Tulsa, where he continued his impactful work with notable nonprofits like 36 Degrees North, Bridge Builders International, Parish Network, and Tulsa Responds.
Having experienced the challenges of growing up in low-income households, Levi empathizes with many of the struggles faced by Epic Hope participants. His passion lies in providing the necessary tools to guide families out of the cycle of poverty. Offering hope and opportunity to those in dire need is what drives him the most.
Levi and his wife are proud parents of two beautiful twin boys. They share a love for travel and enthusiastically support Tulsa's vibrant local food and arts scene.

Josiah Roche | Community Garden Coordinator
Josiah is a native Tulsan and is the lead coordinator of the Epic Hope Community Garden. Through this initiative, Josiah dreams of a neighborhood tied together through communal space, urban agriculture, and sustainable food independence–benefitting all who reside in this section of Tulsa. While working in other nonprofit community gardens around Tulsa, Josiah saw the natural bond of community that the garden forms between neighbors, paving the way for future educational initiatives and teaching residents what it means to truly steward the world around them.
